The Pre-Prep Room offers children aged 4-5 years the opportunity to explore a curriculum based program before they start "Big School". Our program is flexible to meet every child's individual needs, strengths and interests.

 

Group Leader:

Running our prep room is Bronwyn, a very organised and motivated person. She's currently studying her bachelor's teaching degree (early childhood) and brings a great deal of professionalism and enthusiasm to the centre. She's a fantastic teacher for the children, with whom she has a very close and caring relationship. There's no doubt the class gets 'a flying start' to school with her play-based development and education programs. Her 'mat' times are famous!

 

Computers:

We currently have three computers within the room. These act as learning tools which help to build on and extend children's language, cognition, intellectual, social and emotional skills.

 

Every child learns and develops at their own pace. We foster plenty of 1:1 time in the Prep Room and individualise programs to tailor the needs of all children and their families.

 

Activities:

- pre-learning and literacy work such as dot-to-to name writing, pencil control and grip, recognising and learning letters and sounds and basic numeracy skills (addition, multiplication and subtraction)

- art and craft experiences include clay sculpting, paper mache, bubble blowing, string painting, butterfly painting and collage

- group experiences and activities such as show and tell, group story telling, activity sharing (holiday outings) and classroom rules and expectations

- outdoor active activities include bikes and scooters on the bike track, skipping ropes, sand play, obstacle courses, tumbling, soccer, football and cricket.

Playing on the computers is fun!

There's lots of room to play and learn!
